Registration Fee: New families pay a one-time registration fee of $1,000, upon initial admission to Country Day School. Families entering the ELC program will pay this fee when the child begins Pre-Kinder. This fund will be administered by the Country Day School Educational Development Association, a non-profit entity, and will be used to fund scholarships and service projects. This is a non-refundable fee.

Matriculation Fee: The matriculation fee is paid in full for all enrolling students prior to the start of each school year. The fee is due in May of each year for returning students; and, for new students, is due upon enrollment with the above registration fee. This is a non-refundable fee.

Tuition (Pre-Kinder-12th Grade): Tuition is paid yearly in two installments. Seventy percent (70%) of tuition is due prior to the beginning of the school year. The 70% payment is due in full and is non-refundable. The remaining thirty percent (30%) of tuition is billed in November and is due before the end of the first semester. The 30% payment is due in full and is non-refundable. Students who enter CDS for the first time in the second semester, pay 5/9ths (55%) of the year's tuition. For all students who enter after the beginning of the school year, tuition is due upon entering.

Tuition (Early Learning Center): Tuition is billed twice yearly. Fifty percent (50%) of tuition is due prior to the beginning of the school year, and fifty percent (50%) will be billed in November and is due before the end of the first semester. Students who enter CDS for the first time in the second semester, pay 5/9ths (55%) of the year's tuition. For all students who enter after the beginning of the school year, tuition is due upon entering.

Billing and Payment: School fees are quoted in US dollars. Payment can be made in colones at the official Banco Central sell-rate or in US dollars. The school business office will only accept checks. Payment in cash (or by check) can be made by depositing the amount due in any branch of:

CDS does not accept US dollar checks drawn on banks domiciled outside the USA, with the exception of dollar checks drawn on Banks in Costa Rica.

Surcharges: A surcharge of 1.5% per month is levied against past due accounts. A 10% surcharge is levied on past due matriculation and registration fee invoices. A charge of $45.00 is due to the school for each check rejected by the bank.

School Supplies: Consumable workbooks, on-loan classroom textbooks, and some school supplies are included in school fees. Paper, pens, and pencils are given to students periodically in established quantities. There are no lab, computer, or locker fees. No additional charges are levied for honors courses nor for band and violin classes (except for instrument rentals). Transportation for class field trips within the inner city are paid for by the school. Student newspapers are free and each student in grades one through twelve is entitled to one copy of the school yearbook. Children in pre-primary (Early Learning Center through preparatory) will receive one yearbook per family.

Additional Fees: Additional fees are charged for regular school-to-home transportation, food service, instrument rentals, and some after school activities. Students are required to purchase the official P.E. and CDS school uniform. Additional charges may be levied for consumable materials in courses like advanced art and for personal reference texts, when required by the school. Students must pay for the cost of special examinations required by CDS, such as Advanced Placement and Pre-Sat tests.

Special Education Services: CDS will charge additional fees for special education services or programs outside its stated mission or program of studies that the school may be called upon to provide. Special education services or programs could include, but are not limited to, special classes in areas such as ESL, foreign languages, specialized arts, crafts, and skills, learning disabilities, remediation, or special services for students who are learning impaired or who have identified special needs.

Cafeteria Service is offered through Conday Restaurante. You have the option to open an account with the cafeteria to make deposits for automatic withdrawals each time a purchase is made. Deposits at the B.O. can be made only by check. Deposits through other means (or by check) can also be made to the accounts of Conday Restaurante available at the B.O. and school website.

Optional Payment Plan: An optional payment plan is available at an additional cost of 5% over the stated yearly tuition. Contact the business office for further information

Pago de Contribución: Toda familia de primer ingreso debe pagar una cuota inicial de $1,000, este monto se debe cancelar por completo en el momento de la inscripción. Las familias de primer ingreso en el Centro de Aprendizaje de Temprana Edad pagarán esta cuota cuando el niño (a) empiece en Pre-kinder. Los fondos recaudados por este concepto los administra la Asociación de Desarrollo Educacional de Country Day School, entidad sin fines de lucro, y son utilizados para subsidiar becas y proyectos comunales. Esta cuota no es reembolsable.

Matrícula: El pago de matrícula para cada estudiante se hace por completo antes del inicio de cada año escolar. Este monto vence en mayo de cada año para los estudiantes regulares; para los estudiantes nuevos, vence en el momento de la inscripción junto con el pago de la contribución de primer ingreso. Esta cuota no es reembolsable.

Colegiatura (Pre-kinder a 12avo año): La colegiatura debe cancelarse anualmente, mediante dos pagos. Setenta por ciento (70%) de la colegiatura anual vence antes del inicio del año escolar. El pago del 70% se debe hacer completo y no es reembolsable. El treinta por ciento (30%) restante se factura en noviembre y debe cancelarse por completo antes de la finalización del primer semestre. El pago del 30% se debe hacer completo y no es reembolsable. Los estudiantes que ingresan a CDS por primera vez en el segundo semestre, pagan 5/9s (55%) de la colegiatura anual. La colegiatura de aquellos estudiantes que ingresan después del inicio del año escolar vence en el momento del ingreso.

Colegiatura Centro de Aprendizaje de Temprana Edad: La colegiatura debe cancelarse anualmente, mediante dos pagos. Cincuenta por ciento del monto anual vence antes del inicio del año escolar. El pago del cincuenta por ciento (50%) restante es facturado en noviembre y vence antes de la finalización del primer semestre. Los estudiantes que ingresan a CDS por primera vez en el segundo semestre, pagan 5/9s (55%) del monto anual. La colegiatura de aquellos estudiantes que ingresan después del inicio del año escolar vence en el momento de el ingreso.

Facturación y Pagos: Las tarifas se han establecido en dólares de los Estados Unidos. Los pagos se pueden hacer en colones al tipo de cambio (venta), establecido por el Banco Central, del día que se efectúe el pago. La oficina financiera sólo aceptará cheques. Todo pago en efectivo (o cheque) puede realizarse por medio de depósito directo en cualquiera de las siguientes cuentas:

CDS no acepta cheques en dólares americanos girados contra bancos domiciliados fuera de los Estados Unidos; con la excepción de cheques en dólares girados contra bancos en Costa Rica.

Sobrecargos: Se cobrará un recargo del 10% sobre matrículas y contribuciones vencidas y 1.5% mensual se aplicará a los demás rubros vencidos. El costo por cheque devuelto es de $45.00 mínimo.

Materiales para la Escuela: Los libros de ejercicios, el préstamo de libros de texto y algunos suministros escolares están considerados en el monto de la colegiatura. El papel, los lapiceros y los lápices se distribuyen a los estudiantes periódicamente en cantidades establecidas. No hay cobros adicionales por laboratorio, computación, "lockers", cursos honoríficos, clases de violín o banda (excepto por el alquiler de instrumentos). El pago de transporte para las excursiones dentro de la ciudad lo asume la escuela. El periódico de los estudiantes es gratis y cada estudiante tiene derecho a una copia del Anuario. Niños de preescolar (Centro de Aprendizaje de Temprana Edad a Preparatoria) recibirán un anuario por familia.

Cargos Adicionales: Los cargos adicionales son el transporte de autobús, servicio de comida, alquiler de instrumentos musicales y clases adicionales después del horario escolar. A los estudiantes se les solicita comprar el uniforme de Educación Física y el uniforme regular del colegio. Cargos adicionales pueden ser requeridos como por ejemplo en cursos de arte avanzado y la adquisición de textos de referencia personal. Los estudiantes deben pagar por el costo de exámenes especiales que son administrados por la escuela, tales como "Advanced Placement" y "Pre-SAT".

Servicio de cafetería es ofrecido a través de Conday Restaurante. Usted tiene la opción de hacer depósitos a una cuenta a nombre del estudiante. Esta cuenta podrá abrirla en el B.O. y se debita automáticamente con cada compra realizada. Depósitos por medio de cheque podrán hacerse en el B.O., de hacerse por otro medio (o cheque) por favor utilizar las cuentas bancarias disponibles en el B.O. y en nuestra página web.

Servicios de Educación Especial: CDS cobrará cargos adicionales por servicios de educación especial esto incluye los programas o estudios que se requieran para brindarlo, sin limite, clases especiales que ofrece como "ESL" (Inglés como Segundo Idioma), idiomas extranjeros, artes especializadas, oficios y habilidades, problemas de aprendizaje o servicios especiales para estudiantes con discapacidad.
