In the elementary school, our main goal is to provide children with opportunities to explore their interests and strive to foster their independence in working to the best of their potential, not only academically, but also physically, socially and creatively. We offer an extensive after school program including drama, dance, violin, Scouts, arts and crafts, basketball, swimming, soccer, and baseball.
Classes and activities are planned with the developmental stages from 1st through 5th grades in mind. We also provide our students with character education activities to help them develop into caring individuals. One of our goals is to meet the needs of all of our students, and we are committed to the continuous growth and improvement of all of our programs.
The core subjects in the Elementary School are Language Arts (reading, spelling, vocabulary, grammar, composition), Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Spanish, Physical Education, Art, Music, Computer and Library. All students are placed in a Spanish class appropriate to their proficiency level. Some students receive additional help in English and Reading.
Another one of out great strengths is the commitment and involvement of our parents. Parents help plan and implement a variety of events and programs such as the Back-to-School Picnic, Fun Run, as well as our special reading program and various class activities.
We look forward with students, staff and parents to promote academic excellence, build our community, improve our programs, and help our students develop those qualities which will ensure their success in a global, modern society.
Mr. William Large
Elementary School Principal
