High School
It is my pleasure to welcome you to The Country Day School website. As high school principal, I work with a group of more than 160 students and over 30 staff members to support and ensure a positive and rewarding experience for all of our students.
The Panthers are proud of our academic, extra-curricular, athletic and artistic programs dedicated to benefiting and advancing student achievement. All of our students receive a US Diploma and in addition, almost half receive the Costa Rican Baccalaureate. We recently celebrated 28 AP scholars-students who earned distinction from the College Board for their high achievements in multiple AP classes, a National Merit finalist, and two perfect SAT scores. Our students are active in service to the community with programs like Habitat for Humanity, Roots and Shoots, SOSER, and environmental groups that are helping CDS High School become a "Green" school. Students that are involved in Student Council and National Honor Society are an integral part of our high school community.
Our students come from multi-cultural backgrounds from all over the world. They compete athletically in ACTION tournaments against Costa Rican schools in soccer, basketball and volleyball as well as participate in AASCA sports and activities with other international schools in Central America. Clubs and activities include Model United Nations, Podcast Journalism, Yearbook, Roots and Shoots, Knowledge Bowl, National Honor Society, Student Council, Drama, Choir, and Wind Ensemble.
Consider becoming part of the Panther family of support by joining our parents' association or volunteering for help with school events. On behalf of the staff here at Country Day High School, thanks for supporting our entire school community, working together and building trusting relationships that will carry our students to academic excellence and achievement.
Go Panthers!
