The Country Day School announces that Mr. Cameron MacKay, Canadian Ambassador to Costa Rica, Honduras and Nicaragua (resident in Costa Rica) as the speaker for the 45th Commencement exercises on June 4th.
Prior to his position as Canadian Ambassador, he was Director of Regional Trade Policy at Canada’s Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT), and Canada’s Chief Negotiator for free trade agreement (FTA) negotiations with Panama, the Central America Four (El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua), and Ukraine.
Since joining DFAIT in 1995, his diplomatic career has focused on bilateral and multilateral treaty negotiations covering trade and economic policy, environment and border facilitation. Mr. MacKay last served abroad at Canada’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations and the World Trade Organization in Geneva, from 2001-2006.
Mr. MacKay also holds the honor of being father of two Country Day students. The 2011 Commencement will take place June 4th at 9 a.m. |
