This Monday, October 31^st,  CDS will host Geneva “Mika” Camarena as a guest speaker during Red Ribbon Week. Ms. Camarena will speak to our Middle and High School students at a 9:00 a.m. assembly about her story, her husband’s story and her efforts to bring drug substance abuse to the forefront and promote an intolerance to drug use.

By wearing a red ribbon during the last week in October and throughout November, students demonstrate their ardent opposition to drugs.  They pay homage not only to Special Agent Camarena, but to all men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in support of our nation’s struggle against drug trafficking and abuse.

Ms. Camarena comes to CDS as the first part of her tour this week in Costa Rica courtesy of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency and the U.S. Embassy.
