Using the October race against breast cancer, Corre por mi, as a target, a group of staff, students and parents have been part of a training program that focuses on health. The group is comprised of all abilities and levels of athleticism, but we all believe in good health and supporting the fight to cure breast cancer. Corre por mi is held each year in La Sabana and San Jose and is a race/walk against Breast Cancer. This year, it is being held on Saturday, October 2^nd.

 

We hope to have a big group go to the race that day. If interested in being a part of the race, we can help with the inscription and sign-up for the race. For those who sign up through CDS by September 16^th, race registration and a running package (shirt and other goodies) will be delivered to Glenda Pearson at the School for pick-up. The cost of the event is 6,000 colones; due to the volume of sponsorship, the proceeds go towards the fight against cancer.

In addition, Ms. Pearson has a coach available for parents and children interested in training for the race in the early morning before the start of school.

Ready to cheer for our The 2011-2012 Basketball season for Country day School is here! Teams have already begun practicing crossover dribbles, perfecting left handed lay-ups and learning full court defenses. If last year’s season is any indication (remember the packed house for the High School championship games? Or our champion Middle School boys’ and girls’ teams?), the next few months will be packed with solid hoops.
