Welcome to The Country Day School Website
One of the main goals CDS has is to fully integrate technology usage in our educational system. This will allow the students to develop their skills, talents, and capacity in a more and more technological world. We are developing projects where teachers are highly integrating technology in their courses. Teachers have access to several resources to accomplish this goal. CDS counts with a “campus wide” Cisco wireless network, a 10 Mbps internet connection, Dell Power Edge 2950 servers capable to handle different applications and file storage for teachers and students. The school runs in a dual platform. Middle School is Mac based and Elementary and High School are PC based. Both platforms are running under the same network in a transparent way. We defined “use of software standards” so everyone can be able to do the same in a PC or a Mac. Every teacher has a computer in their classroom. The Mac minis located in Middle School are able to run Windows OS as well. The students at CDS are learning both technologies Mac & PC, which, in a world of changes that is a tremendous plus. CDS also counts with 3 multimedia centers for 20 students each (1 Macs, 2 PC Based). CDS counts with all multimedia equipment such as video cameras, digital cameras, LCD Projectors, screens, DVD’s, VCR’s, TV’s, audio devices, Smart Boards etc. Students and teachers at CDS can use all these resources to complement their studies and knowledge developing lots of multimedia projects. I warmly invite you to be part of this incredible institution, your kids will receive an excellent education and they are going to be able to develop their skills and knowledge in an excellent, sophisticated, effective and technological way.
