  • Plan your testing program
  • U.S. Citizens? GET YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY CARD!
  • Compile list of important factors in university search
  • Try a “web-search” for university information with College Counselor to see how it works!
  • Register for SAT Reasoning Test and /or  SAT Subject Test (May taking)

APRIL

  • Register for TOEFL
  • Make an appointment for your and your parents to meet with College Counselor
  • Research university websites
  •  Register for the SAT Reasoning Test and/or SAT Subject Test (June )     
  • Plan your July vacation travels. Contact universities to find out about information session, tours and interviews.

MAY

  • Take SAT’s and TOEFL tests
  • Ask your current 11th grade class teachers for recommendations
  • Register for 12th grade classes

JUNE

 Take SAT Subject Tests

JULY

Use summer vacation wisely

  • summer school for enrichment
  • language advancement
  • university visits and interviews
  • jobs (for pay or volunteer)
  • review university materials as they arrive
  • take a class for fun
  • advance your hobby or favorite sport by classes
  • practice for the SAT/ACT/TOEFL
  • SPEND SOME TIME SURFING university websites

ON-GOING

  • Create university list.
  • Evaluate individual aptitude and interest to select university majors.
  • Talk with parents about universities, locations, costs.
  • Accumulate supplementary documentation. (External examinations, translations, essays, photos, financial standing, visa documentation, records from previous schools, etc.)
