CDS has moved to its new location
Country Day School opened its doors in our new campus, in July 2016. The 2016-2017 school year has began in San Rafael de Alajuela. In a purposefully built campus, Country Day School is the first LEED certified PreK-12 school in Costa Rica. Making vision come to reality, CDS has been designed to foster community within the campus with learning spaces adjacent and visible to each other. 81 classrooms, 7 science labs, robotics and maker spaces, a theater, dining hall, and athletic and fine arts facilities, make CDS the school it is today. With many indoor and outdoor learning spaces with teaching walls, and inner courtyards within Houses with natural playscapes, seating and outdoor learning spaces.
The school started its transformation back in 2010 by developing an strategic and design plan to build world-class, innovative facilities, that reflect the latest research on effective learning environments as part of a new campus. Located in the development Hacienda Espinal, the campus is in the Autopista del Sol-National Route 27, close to the western communities of La Guacima, Lindora, Santa Ana, Cuidad Colon and Escazú, as well as areas such as Grecia, Atenas, Orotina and towns close to Costa Rica's Pacific Coast in Herradura and Jaco.
